Why I Started PT Truths

What we were taught about this profession, about money, about life isn’t the whole story.

Most of us were told to pick a stable career, get a good job, work until retirement, and be grateful. But no one talked about:

  • The complete lack of financial and business education in school
  • The debt we’d carry before our first paycheck
  • The burnout that’s rampant across every setting
  • The underpayment that keeps talented therapists stuck or discouraged

I’ve seen too many clinicians feel trapped. Some leave the field entirely. Others stay in unhappy roles because they don’t know what else is possible or because nobody ever showed them how to level up, negotiate, or build something of their own.

I know what it’s like to feel behind in life before you’ve even started. To wonder if you made a mistake. To feel like you have no control over your time, income, or future.

PT Truths exists to change that

My Mission

I want to create lasting change in the profession and in the lives of clinicians who are ready for more.

For the field of physical therapy, it will take a long-term shift in education: teaching business, finance, negotiation, and high-level clinical skills that actually translate into confidence and income.

For individual clinicians, my mission is to help you:

  • Make more money, whether you stay in patient care or build something new
  • Feel confident negotiating and knowing your worth
  • Avoid the burnout that’s become too common in healthcare
  • Explore side hustles, investments, and other paths to financial freedom
  • Build a career, and a life, you don’t have to escape from, but are in control of

If you’re here, you’re already doing what most never will: questioning the status quo and investing in yourself.

I’m here to help you do the rest.

My Journey in Physical Therapy

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from the University of New Orleans, then completed my Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at LSU Health Sciences Center in 2017.

My early career took me into a busy hospital, working in all settings, Acute, SNF, Rehab, Home Health, but primarily rotating across orthopedics, med/surg, and oncology. Over time, I found my passion in outpatient care, working with orthopedic and sports patients and utilizing elite-level manual therapy skills and clinical reasoning to help them return to what they love.

I’ve invested tens of thousands of dollars, and countless hours, into my development, including advanced clinical training and professional growth:

  • Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS)
  • Sports and Orthopedic Manual Therapy Certification (CSOMT)
  • Dry Needling (Cert. DN)
  • Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS)
  • Residency and fellowship-trained through the Institute of Athlete Regeneration (IAR)

But beyond the clinical side, I’ve also spent years learning what PT school never taught us:

  • Business coaching and courses on private practice and digital entrepreneurship
  • Online coaching models and nontraditional revenue streams
  • Investing and trading as tools to build financial security
  • Leadership development and how to grow into management and administrative roles

Despite all the credentials and education, I learned that true mastery requires much more than any course, certification, or job title.
